Good product but...
Overall this is a very good product. The shampoo lathers up nicely and rinses out easily. It has a pleasant smell. As for the ability to lighten blonde hair I did not find a significant difference in my hair prior to using this product and after about 2 months of use. I have naturally dark blonde hair and used this product over the winter months. I was expecting it to lighten my hair somewhat or at least brighten my hair. I didn't find that it did either. In summary I would recommend this product for a great everyday shampoo but not for lightening my blonde hair. Perhaps others with lighter blonde hair or color treated hair have had better success than I have.

I have used John Frieda in the past, but was actually surprised how well it worked. You can't expect your hair colour to dramatically change. But it does lighten and brighten the colour. With continued use, the colour gets lighter. Great for roots, which is what I used it for. I'm naturally blonde but dye a brighter blonde, so it worked well to help make my roots look softer. I used the whole line (Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo, Conditioner and In-Shower Lightening Treatment). I then carried on with the shampoo and conditioner each wash. It doesn't dry your hair out really. I have dry, damaged hair, so I just used my other conditioner after using these products.

My new go to Blonde Shampoo!
I’ve been using this shampoo for a few weeks now and I’m very happy with the results! I’ve been highlighting my hair blonde for a very long time and like every blonde out there I’ve had an issue with my hair becoming dull and brassy too fast. I don’t like using purple shampoo too often, so when I received this product I was very happy to see that it actually works. I haven’t had to use the purple shampoo since I started using this product! I also love that it doesn’t have a harsh smell like other shampoos can have and it lathers very well! Very happy with this product, I’ll be buying more when this runs out! #freeproduct

Grey looks blonde now!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love this stuff!! I have blonde highlights that get dull easily and definitely needed a refresh. This shampoo used along with the matching conditioner has brightened my blonde highlights so nicely! Not only that, my greys that show up in my regrowth are looking blonde vs grey, so they are actually looking like highlights now and blending in with my existing highlights vs looking like grey regrowth. It's just amazing! I was kind of expecting these products to be drying on my already dry hair but they are not! Actually quite moisturizing. The shampoo also gives my hair that salon clean feeling and it smell so fresh. In love with this line! #freeproduct

I use many John Frieda products that I love and couldn't wait to try the Go Blonder shampoo. I thought I would skip my usual salon trip for a toner, to refresh my highlights, and see what happens. Well, I was surprised at how well the shampoo works! After just a couple of uses my blonde highlights were brighter, blonder and less brassy looking. The shampoo has a sunny, yellow color, smells fantastic and did not dry out my hair. I have to add....while it made my highlights lighter and brighter, it did not lighten my natural dark blonde hair.....but I did not expect it too. I am so happy that I saved money by not having to go to the salon to get my highlights refreshed.

Did what I needed it to do!
I had too many lowlights put in my hair. Being always a blonde highlight girl, I needed my colour back. I didnt want to get my highlights redone, that would be far too damaging on my long hair. So I turned to Go Blonder shampoo. People cannot believe the difference it has made. I knew my lovely blonde was under that dye, and this is totally bringing that lovely blonde back out! Between this and the summer sun, my hairdresser couldnt believe how much of the dye it pulled out and my hair has never grown so long! It didnt damage it whatsoever! I'll be buying my second bottle soon, and won't stop. Blonde is addicting!

Great Product

This is an awesome product and I found that my highlights get brighter just after a couple washes (with using the Go Blonder conditioner too). I’m going to go more blonde soon so this is going to be AMAZING!
A little story about the smell... smells like my dad from when I was a kid (good smells, he was a massage therapist). He passed away last December so the smell of these products remind me of him and all the good memories we shared.

This product is the best I have tried of John Frieda Products!!
*I am not coloring my hair anymore!! I am using John Frieda Go Blonder natural chamomile shampoo and conditioner that brings out our natural golden hair and highlights* it has no peroxide, no ammonia and is lovely!! it is very moisturizing and leaves my hair feeling soft and silky. I find it is more moisturizing than Sheer Blonde and the highlights are much more significant and have improved with Go Blonder. It also get's rid of brassiness more than any purple shampoo I have tried!! I am letting my hair grow long. My natural hair is so pretty!! Other people are giving me compliments about it. I will keep buying this product for many years to come. I highly recommend it!! : )

My secret sunny day in a bottle
I have to admit I am a fan of John Frieda hair line,
Though I havent bought much of shampoos for a while
I do love frizz ease and use it religiously.
However when the opportunity came up to try the new line I was happy to give it a try.
So glad I did my hair is in need of much love from sheer blonde. I have to admit I've forgotten how intoxicating the smell is and reminds of a nice sunny summer day,which is nice since we're in February blah.
Totally recommend go blonder, it lightens ,smells amazing and brings life back to my lovely locks.

Sun in a Bottle
When I first came across this product a few years ago I was weary because it's the first I've seen of it's kind; a lightening shampoo. I used to use lemon juice and other things to brighten my blonde especially in the winter months, because I don't want to dye it completely, and this was the perfect solution. It keeps my hair looking sun kissed year round, and it's never a brassy blonde either. I'm also happy that it's not too strong that it dries my hair out, or leaves it 'too blonde', even if I use it for months continuously. The smell is absolutely amazing, I find it kind of banana-y, and everyone compliments me on it. It also does a great job as a regular shampoo getting my hair clean, so you're not sacrificing anything for the benefit of going blonder! I think i'd just about die if this product ever got discontinued. For blondes, its the ultimate upkeep solution.

Getting compliments on my hair!

I received Sheer Blonde® Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo to try and review as part of Glam Sense and I am so glad that I got to because I now love this line of John Frieda Blonde products. I have naturally blonde hair that gets darker in the winter and I found that the Go Blonder Shampoo was a great way to lighten up my hair colour. The shampoo gave me a good overall colour touch up naturally without making my hair feel damaged or processed. I noticed a difference almost immediately after I began to use the Go Blonder line. I really liked and how the shampoo left my hair feeling clean and brighter after being washed. I would definitely purchase this product again and recommend it to my blonde friends.

Great for brightening heavily highlighted hair
Things I loved were the lather and the fragrance of this product. I have partial highlights that are a bit more golden for the winter and in the summer I usually do full, platinum blonde highlights. I find that on the parts of my hair that were lighter, this shampoo definitely lightened those spots up significantly. On my natural blonde hair at the roots which is a bit darker, I found it made it look a bit brassy. If you have lots of really light blonde highlights already and are looking to refresh between visits - I would recommend this product. If your hair is of the darker blonde variety - it may make it look brassy instead of blonder. I am eager to try this in the summer when I have more highlights!

So Sleek and Fast Cleaning
First off, I love the shape of the bottles. Thin, sleek and easy to store in the shower. That being said, the hole of this shampoo bottle was NOT big enough! It took way too much effort to squeeze out product. Though you do need very little to create a nice lather, it was a bit inconvenient. I ended up taking some pliers to the spout and created a bigger hole. Though it doesn’t click shut like usual, the cap didn't leak when it’s standing up. Fragrance, texture and cleaning power are all top notch. My hair colour is rendered more vibrant and highlights are preserved. I wash my hair daily so over time (1 month) if used alone I’m sure you’d see noticeable results.

Pleasantly Surprised!
I'm going to be honest - I've tried a lot of different supposedly "brightening" shampoos, and I've never really found that they made a difference. I also wasn't expecting too much from this one, especially when I saw it wasn't a purple shampoo.
That being said, this actually worked! I used it for a week straight, washing my hair every day, and I really did not notice a subtle lightening of my hair! My hair tends to take on a slightly reddish tinge in the winter, more strawberry blonde, and lightens to true blonde in the summer. When I finished with the week, my hair very much reminded me of how it looks in July, and it's only February!
I also didn't find it weighed my hair down or made it greasy.
I would recommend!
